Fly High Stories launch their free ’12 Tiny Plays’ project with resources for teachers to use over the festive season

Fly High Stories have just launched their new 12 Tiny Plays project –  They are keen for teachers to use the free resources to create plays with their pupils as well as for families to enjoy together at home over the Festive season.

Fly High Stories says ’Not only are our plays about Christmas, Chanukah, Diwali, and other fun things you can do in Winter, there are also interactive activities such as our amazing Panto-logues (an audio tour of a theatre hosting a pantomime), design tutorials and an amazing ‘character builder’ game. All created so people with young children can bring a little of the theatre magic into their homes or the classroom

We really hope that you’ll hop along to the website, sign up, and  have a wander through all the things on offer.

We have asked some of the best contemporary playwrights around to write 12 short, fun FESTIVE play scripts for you to act out.’

With accompanying music tracks from Composer in Residence Arran Glass, and design tutorials from Associate Designers Sam Wilde, Nicola Chang, and Sherry Coenen, this resource aims to encourage those of all ages to act, sing, dance and play together and bring a little bit of winter theatricality and festive fun into their lives.

The full line-up of writers is: Hannah Khalil, Helen Eastman, Lisa Parry, Lucy Hayward, Andrew Barnett Jones, Sam Holley-Horseman, Katie Redford, Lucy Chau Lai-Tuen, Sumerah Srivastav, Joseph Winer, Martin Lamb and Rachel Barnett-Jones.’

12 Tiny Plays offers lots of free resources that could link into creative writing, drama and end of term activities. This includes a step by step guide on ‘How to Write a Play’ as well as information and ideas for putting on a show, including costume, set design and production.

We wanted to let you know about this free resource as it may be useful for teachers to access before the end of term or the beginning of January. For more information please visit the website – https://www.flyhighstories.co.uk
