Arts charity ‘Delight’ share their Evaluation Report 2020 -21

Delight, whose focus is ‘Using the joy of the arts to create magic in learning’ have shared their evaluation report 2020 – 2021. This detailed report outlines the impact of Delight’s programmes over a very difficult year, when children’s lives and learning were continually disrupted by ongoing school closures and lockdowns.

Delight adapted their arts-based learning programmes: Delight in Art, Delight in Dance and Delight in Shakespeare so that they could be offered both online and in-school. Their programme ‘Delight in Reading’ was delivered by giving tote bags filled with books to a number of partner schools.

Thanks to funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Delight has appointed award-winning social enterprise ImpactEd to undertake an independent evaluation of their programmes, looking at the impact on children as they journey through Delight in Dance (year 3), Delight in Art (year 4) and Delight in Shakespeare (year 5). They are using ImpactEd’s findings to enrich their programme offer, expand their reach and strengthen their impact. They will also share their research to encourage and inspire other artists and educators to effectively embed arts-based learning within primary schools.
